Overall Condition This Technos Sky Diver is in a good, honest vintage condition. The case retains its original shape and profile. There are some visible scratches on the case back, but the engraving remains clear and legible. The lume on the hour markers has aged evenly with that on the hands, fading together into a warm, attractive orange hue. Although the service history is unknown, the automatic movement keeps good time. The presence of the Technos-signed automatic rotor makes this piece a truly complete and collectible example.

This is a Technos Sky Diver Ref. 1163 from the 1960s. It has all the elements you would look for in a dive watch, packed into a relatively compact yet very wearable 38mm case. As indicated on the dial, “Swiss T<25,” this Technos Sky Diver features a less common dial with Tritium lume on the hour markers and luminous hands.

It comes with a signed screw-down crown and a screw-in case back with clear and legible engravings. The Technos Sky Diver uses a relatively standard automatic movement, so many examples on the market have swapped or unsigned movements. However, this particular Sky Diver retains its Technos-signed rotor—an incredibly rare find.

The crystal features a square magnifier that complements the red text on the date wheel. It is said that the Technos Sky Diver served as the design specification for China’s first dive watch, the Shanghai SS4, which explains the many similarities between the two.
