Overall Condition This Movado Calendomatic Triple Calendar is presented in honest vintage condition. The case shows light wear but retains its sharp original lines and well-defined faceted chamfered lugs. The dial has minor visible scratches consistent with its age, while the matching handset (hour, minute, and date) and hour markers display even, consistent patina. The bumper automatic movement is running well, and the day and date corrector pin operates cleanly and precisely without hesitation.

The Movado Calendomatic had the shortest production run in the brand’s triple calendar lineup, made for just 7 years from 1948 to 1954. Despite that, it remains one of the most compelling, especially in this attractive two-tone configuration.

As the final chapter following the Calendograf (1938) and Celestograf (1947), the Calendomatic is world’s first automatic triple calendar wristwatch, powered by a bumper automatic movement that once commanded a 25% premium over its manual wind counterparts.

This example features a two-tone “Mixte” case made by the renowned case maker François Borgel (FB), with the FB patent hallmark visible inside the caseback. The stepped case is paired with thin, angled lugs and long chamfers, a design language Movado had been refining since the late 1930s, and is completed by the signature “hat” crown.

The Calendomatic offers a rare mix of historical significance, thoughtful design, and relative accessibility within the world of 1940s–50s fine watchmaking.
