Overall Condition This oversized 38mm Jules Jurgensen diver’s chronograph is in exceptionally good condition. The case retains crisp, angular lines and appears unpolished, with all original factory contours intact. The screw-down caseback still shows clear, legible factory markings, though a few light scratches are visible. The matte dial is pristine, with no discoloration or patina. Hour and minute hands and indices are clean; the lume has faded to an attractive yellow-orange tone. Inside, the manual-winding Landeron 248 winds smoothly and feels precise and tactile through the crown. The chronograph starts, stops, and resets with clean, confident action. Service history is unknown, but all functions are fully operational.

Jules Jürgensen and Urban Jürgensen stem from the same family watchmaking company but operated in two different geography: the original Danish house, Urban Jürgensen & Sønner in Copenhagen, and its Swiss counterpart, Jules Jürgensen.

Following Jürgen Jürgensen’s death in 1811, his son, Urban took over the company and continue the watchmaking business in Copenhagen under the name Urban Jürgensen & Sønner. One of Urban’s sons, Jules Frederik Jürgensen, later relocated to Switzerland, where he established a subsidiary workshop that became known as Jules Jürgensen.

This 38mm vintage diver’s chronograph from Jules Jurgensen wears beautifully on the wrist. White indices and hands stand out sharply against the matte black dial and glossy black bezel, while a subtle red accent on the 45-minute counter adds a touch of character. Inside beats the reliable Landeron 248, operated via pushers at 2 (start) and 4 (stop and reset) o’clock. An oversized crown and screw down caseback ensure robust water resistance. All in all, it’s a truly handsome diver’s chronograph.
