Overall Condition This LeJour chronograph remains in exceptionally good condition, retaining its original sharp case lines. The crown sits neatly flush with the case, while the caseback shows only light hairline scratches consistent with age and careful wear. The dark grey dial is well preserved, with crisp and fully legible text and logo. The movement winds smoothly with a precise feel, and the chronograph functions: start, stop, and reset, operate confidently and without hesitation.

LeJour chronographs are often referred to as “the poor man’s Heuer,” reflecting their close connection. During the 1970s, Heuer produced chronographs for LeJour under private label arrangements, resulting in designs that closely echo classic Heuer aesthetics.

This example features a familiar dial layout that mirror that of vintage Heuer chronographs. Similarly, It is also powered by the Valjoux 7765, a robust cam operated chronograph movement incorporating a date module positioned at 3 o’clock that takes up pseudo subdial space.

A notable detail is the fixed tachymeter bezel, in a classic red and blue colour scheme that can also be found on Seiko 5 Sports Speed-Timer 6139. This similarity has led collectors to nickname this model the “LeJour Speed-Timer.” The LeJour also uses hammerhead case measuring 41mm which has the same case proportions of the Seiko 6139.

This particular LeJour was retailed through Sears, Roebuck & Co., alongside prominent American brands such as Bulova and Hamilton, as evidenced by the stamp on the underside of the caseback.
